Canterbury Dietitians provide clinical dietetic input on an individual basis for residents requiring additional nutrition support in aged care facilities and long term care facilities across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region of New Zealand.
This includes a thorough nutrition assessment with recommendations for appropriate nutrition interventions including individual dietary plans if required. Canterbury Dietitians are all endorsed dietitian prescribers and are able to apply for special authority numbers and prescribe nutritional supplements as appropriate.
Our client base includes residents at risk of malnutrition, those with chronic or acute disease impacting on their nutrition, poor wound healing, those on texture modified diets or other restrictive diets, tube fed residents, and residents who are struggling to maintain a healthy weight.
